This awesome home tucked back on the westside of rapid was in desperate need of attention when the homeowners had contacted us. The UV protective film in all the windows had failed, leaving a crumpled mylar film permanently stuck between the panes of glass. The 25-Year-old pine siding was also beginning to fail and expose the foam sheeting underneath. This was allowing bats and other unwanted guests into the residence.
As we made our way around the house we stripped all siding and old windows. We then wrapped the house in a new vapor barrier, installed new Andersen Fibrex 100 series Windows, and installed the new 30-year warranty PPG prefinished fiber cement siding. Completing one wall at a time to avoid leaving the house exposed to the elements while under construction.
We completed a bit more than just siding and window replacement on this house as well. We also converted a parallelogram window and single door into an outswing french door. Completely removed one window, finishing it inside and out. Painted all the soffits/fascia to match the new siding colors. Then took some of the good lumber from the old pine siding and remilled it to make some beautiful interior window casings.
